Developing Zope/Plone onto my suse 10.2 installation started off awry.  The system would traceback at the mere mention of zopectl.  Note that you will have to install the entire bunch of python rpms. (sans tk/devel/demo) if you want it to work.

 

Plone installed correctly, and so did the site I was importing. going from 2.1.2 -> 2.5.1 is an easy leap, provided you have the correct products installed.  The only downside is my custom made script hasn’t come across much at all.  DIYPlone style has likely had some significant upgrades.
